Cultural Dos and Taboos

1. Men and women should dress modestly only wearing swimwear at the beach or pool.

2. Men and women should not display affection with each other publicly. In general, flirting with a Hindu or Muslim is a not tolerated.

3. One should remove his or her shoes before entering the house of a Hindu or Muslim.

4. One should haggle in the marketplace.

5. If one is entertaining a Hindu do not serve beef.

6. If one is entertaining a Muslim do not offer pork or alcohol.
